This specimen was lot 55577 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. Taler, 1730-EPH. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg II August (George II of Great Britain). Very Fine Details -- Tooled. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." George II issued five different thalers in 1730, two with mintmaster initials "EPH". This fairly scarce wild man thaler, struck 1730-44, has the British arms on the obverse without the lion supporters used on Dav-2090.
