This specimen was lot 73513 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1730-EPH. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. PCGS AU-53. This lovely specimen exhibits lustrous blue steel surfaces with pleasingly generous splashes of champagne. Well struck with clear devices. Attractive. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Includes ticket from Kuenker." This type was struck for August Wilhelm 1714-30 and is rather scarce.
