This specimen was lot 75022 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 2 Mariengroschen, 1730. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. NGC MS-63. A delightful "wildman" minor in Choice Mint State. Bright silver luster and a great strike." This type was struck 1724-30. Another two mariengroschen with a leaping stallion reverse (KM 752) was struck 1716-30 and is priced slightly lower. This was the smallest silver denomination.
