Hannover 1725-HCB 2/3 thaler KM-148
This specimen was lot 5196 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €340 (about US$439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, AB 1692 KURFÜRSTENTUM HANNOVER, - als Georg I. König von Großbritannien, 1714-1727. 2/3 Taler 1725, Clausthal. Überprägt auf einem Stück des gleichen Typs von 1724. R Feine Patina, leichte Überprägungsspuren, vorzüglich. (electorate of Hannover, George I, king of Great Britain, 1714-27, two-thirds thaler of 1725, Clausthal mint, struck over a piece dated 1724. Rare, fine patina, lightly doubled, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1719-27 and has a moderate catalog value. Other gulden for 1725 include KM 100 (bust obverse) and KM 112.2 (wild man reverse).
