This specimen was part of lot 35274 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), which sold for $1,645. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles IV Lot of Thirteen 1/2 Real Coins, Various dates and grades, some with problems. Average grade is F/VF. From The Santa Maria Collection." This type was struck 1789-90 and is scarce compared the similar half real from Mexico City.
