This specimen was lot 23820 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 2003. PCGS MS-68. A bright and lustrous example with a nice cartwheel effect. Free of tone, haze or fog. From the Collection of Richard Jewell." This type was struck 1998-2008 for sale to collectors and did not circulate altho some show signs of mishandling.
Recorded mintage: 43,230 plus 19,750 proofs.
Specification: 7.99 g, 0.917 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, 0.2355 troy oz AGW.
