This specimen was lot 1230 in Goldberg's NY International sale 58 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $810. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Elizabeth II (1952-2022). Gold 50 Pence, 2003. Woman's Social and Political Union, 100th Anniversary. Head with tiara right. Rev. Standing suffragette chained to railings and holding banner. In original red case of issue, Certificate # 0053. Choice Gem Proof." This type was struck in 2003 as well as the regular Britannia reverse (KM 991). Only the gold issues ever appear in auction listings.

Recorded mintage: 3,124,030 plus 35,513 proofs plus 6,267 in silver plus 942 proofs in gold.

Specification: 8 g, copper-nickel, 27.3 mm diameter, or 8 g, 0.925 fine silver, or 15.50 g, 0.917 fine gold, 0.4568 ounce AGW.
