This specimen was lot 27612 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $381.88. The catalog description[1] noted, "William III Sixpence 1696, 1st Bust, small harp in shield, MS64 PCGS, brilliant flashy luster, sharply struck. Imagine, blazing luster on a coin that is 317 years old." This type was struck 1695-97 at London and various branch mints. This specimen is from London and is catalogued as the first bust of William III. Despite its short run, many varieties exist.
