This specimen was lot 24923 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "William III Halfcrown 1696-N, Norwich mint, MS62 NGC. First bust. Stately, dark-gray patina with luminous, underlying luster. An impressively strong strike with bold details and overall eye-appeal." This type of 1696-97 was issued from many branch mints. This specimen comes from Norwich.
