This specimen was lot 32682 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Charles II Shilling 1677 AU55 NGC. Variety without plume below bust and no stop after HIB. A type of comparatively lofty preservation for the issue, with none currently exceeding this certification at either NGC or PCGS. The protected regions of the design hold residual mint luster, which, paired with the intricacy of the reverse motifs, results in a finish on that side quite near to Mint State. From the Abbeygate Collection." This type was struck 1666-83 and is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.02 g, 0.925 fine silver.

Catalog reference: KM 427.1, S-3375, ESC-542 (R; prev. ESC-1050).
