Glarus 1808 schilling

Sincona sale 102, lot 5304

This specimen was lot 5304 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 450 CHF (about US$678 including buyers' fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Glarus, Schilling 1808, Glarus. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Glarus, schilling of 1808, Glarus mint. About Uncirculated.)"

Glarus joined the Swiss Confederation in 1352 but did not strike coinage until after the collapse of the Helvetic Republic. This somewhat scarce type is known for 1808-13. One schilling was three rappen; one hundred rappen made a frank.
