Glarus 1809 schilling KM-13
This specimen was lot 4299 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$971 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Glarus, Schilling 1809, Glarus. Variante: Wappen Girlanden mit je 6 hängenden Blümchen. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Glarus, schilling of 1809, with garland over arms. Rare in this condition, Good extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1806-13 and is scarce with the 1809 being a rare date. Another schilling of 1809 features a wreath under the arms (KM 15). The last issue from this canton was a shooting festival forty batzen issued in 1847. One schilling was three rappen; one hundred rappen made a frank.
