This specimen was lot 30708 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "Germany: Weimar Republic Proof 3 Mark 1932-D PR66 Cameo NGC, Munich mint. A sensational gem displaying pale undertones of burgundy over fields yielding a distinctive and delightful shimmer, unbroken by any important instances of handling. The finest of the type seen by NGC to also be awarded a "Cameo" designation." This type was minted in large quantities 1931-33 but the SCWC notes that less than 10% of the issue was released. It is now scarce. The Goethe commemorative (KM 76), issued at the same time, is quite a bit more available.
