Gelderland 1761 duit
This specimen was lot 31693 in Heritage sale 3107 (Chicago, May 2023), where it sold for $7,800. The catalog description[2] noted, "Netherlands: Gelderland. Provincial gold Duit 1761 MS61 NGC, Harderwijk mint. Glistening at the turn of the wrist, this seldom-encountered provincial charms with its hearty amber tone and wholesome characteristics, featuring the crowned arms of Gelderland, and the date within baroque cartouche on the reverse. From the Coenen Collection." This type was struck in copper 1758-68, in silver 1759-65 and in gold 1759 and 1761. The copper duit was one eighth of a stuiver.
