This specimen was lot 1367 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $188. The catalog description[1] noted, "GELDERLAND: AR ½ duit, 1756, KM-A88, a lovely example! NGC graded MS65." Duits were struck in copper in Gelderland throughout the eighteenth century until the destruction of the United Provinces in 1794. This particular type was struck in copper, silver and gold 1753-57. The copper ones circulated while the silver and gold specimens were souvenirs or presentation pieces.
