This specimen was lot 4254 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$239 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, Batzen 1828. FDC. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (city and canton of Fribourg, battzen of 1828. Uncirculated, Magnificent condition.)"
This type of 1827-28 is fairly common. Five rappen and five batzen were also struck in 1828. Forty batzen made a thaler. The last cantonal issue was a 2½ rappen of 1846 (KM 91).
