This specimen was lot 44025 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Vaud. 5 Batzen, 1828-BEL. PCGS MS-64 Gold Shield. Bold, lovely strike and fully lustrous with light toning. An attractive and intricately designed piece." This type was struck 1826-31 and is the final issue of this denomination. The last issue of the canton is a batzen of 1834. Forty batzen made a thaler.
