Sincona sale 47, lot 2720

This specimen was lot 2720 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$240 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, Halbbatzen 1827. Fast FDC. Kleiner Schrötlingsfehler. (city and canton of Fribourg, half batzen of 1827. About uncirculated, Minor flan defect.)"

This type was struck 1827-28. Forty batzen made a thaler. The last five rappen was struck in 1831.
