This specimen was lot 34031 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Frankfurt. Free City 1/2 Gulden 1841 MS67 NGC. A somewhat scarcer minor issue from this popular series, and the finest certified by NGC to [date], this peachy Gem displays a certain glossiness clinging to the devices and adding yet further appeal. From the Feeling Good Collection." This type was struck 1838-41 and is fairly scarce. Frankfurt was annexed by Prussia in 1866 and her coinage ceased.
