This specimen is a circulating commemorative struck for France at the Paris mint in 1985. It honors the centennial of the death of author Victor Hugo. It accompanied the regular "hexagon" ten francs (KM 940). Precious metal versions were made for collectors and insiders.

Recorded mintage: 10,000,511.

Specification: 10 g, aluminum nickel bronze, 26 mm diameter.
