This specimen was lot 1404 in Jean Elsen sale 162 (Brussels, June 2025), where it sold for €130 (about US$180 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Philips IV (1621-1665), AR patagon, 1623, Brugge. Vz/ Gekroond stokkenkruis met een vuurijzer tussen het jaartal en het juweel van het Gulden Vlies. Kz/ Gekroond wapenschild omringd door de keten van het Gulden Vlies. Krasjes. (county of Flanders, Philip IV, 1621-65, patagon of 1623, Bruges mint. Obverse: Burgundian cross under a crown, supporting the jewel of the Golden Fleece; reverse: crowned arms, order chain around. Scratches, Very Fine.)"

One patagon was 48 sols, stuivers or patards. It was roughly equal to a leeuvendaalder but had about 18% more silver. Patagons are notoriously badly struck.

Specification: 28.10 g, 0.875 fine silver, this specimen 27,45 g.
