This specimen was lot 1284 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it sold for €120 (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"VLAANDEREN, Graafschap, Philips IV (1621-1665), AR kwart patagon, 1624, Brugge. Vz/ Gekroond Bourgondisch kruis. Kz/ Gekroond wapenschild omringd door de keten van het Gulden Vlies. Bast in de muntplaat. Mooie patina. (county of Flanders, Philip IV (1621-65), silver quarter patagon of 1624, Bruges mint. Obverse: Burgundian cross under a crown; reverse: crowned arms, order chain around. Planchet crack, nice patina, Very Fine - Extremely Fine.)"

One patagon was 48 sols, stuivers or patards, making this coin twelve sols. Patagons are notoriously badly struck. This type was struck at Bruges 1624-25, 1628-32, 1638-40, 1644, 1654-57, 1660 and 1663. The common dates are 1624 and 1631. It is much scarcer than the full patagon.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 7.03 g, 0.875 fine silver, this specimen 6,99 g.
