This specimen was lot 22706 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $132. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Penny, ND (1413-22). London Mint. Henry V. NGC VF-30. Mullet/Annulet type. A fairly sharp strike for the type highlights the diminutive silver issue, featuring a deeper tone, though some light ghosting on the obverse is noted." The silver penny, the staple of commerce since Alfred the Great, began to be superseded by the groat in the fifteenth century.
