The first specimen was lot 33968 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $492. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain: Henry V gold 1/4 Noble ND (1413-1422) UNC Details (Damaged) NGC, Tower mint, Pierced Cross mm, Class F. A rarely encountered monarch in the British hammered gold series, this being one of a mere 2 examples of his quarter nobles yet seen by NGC, with the noted damage hardly overtly distracting, and likely contained to some localized scuffing on the reverse." The second specimen was lot 71094 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2022), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[2] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/4 Noble, ND (1413-22). London Mint; mm: pierced cross with pellet center. Henry V. NGC Genuine--Clipped. Despite seeing circulation and the noted clip, this example retains enough charm on account of its good strike and lovely overall nature. A good budget example of a more uncommon type." Three gold coins are listed for this reign: a noble (Fr-109), half noble (Fr-110) and this quarter noble (Fr-111).
