CNG Triton XXVIII, lot 6623

This specimen was lot 6623 in CNG Triton XXVIII (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $673.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "LANCASTER. Henry V. 1413-1422. AR Halfgroat. Class D. London (Tower) mint; im: pierced cross. Crowned facing bust in tressure of arches with trefoils on cusps; broken annulet to left of crown / Long cross pattée; triple pellets in quarters. Toned, a few marks and scratches. Near VF. Ex D. Mangakis Collection; R.C. Lockett Collection (Part V, Glendining, 17 October 1961), lot 4295 (part of); R. Carlyon-Britton Collection." A halfgroat was two pence. Various mintmarks exist but have not been assigned to date ranges.
