Sincona sale 83, lot 2298

This specimen was lot 2298 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$937 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Arabische Republik, seit 1971. 1 Pound 1982 / 1403 H., 50 Jahre Luftwaffe. Nur 2'000 Exemplare geprägt (Only 2,000 pieces struck). NGC MS67." This gold pound NCLT honored the fiftieth anniversary of the Egyptian air force. It was accompanied by a gold five pounds and a silver one pound (KM 542).

Recorded mintage: 2,000.
