This specimen was lot 74383 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $129. The catalog description[1] noted, "EGYPT. Pound, AH 1402/1982. Cairo Mint. NGC MS-66." Other one pound NCLT's for 1982 included KM 539 (airlines anniversary), KM 540 (Al Azhar mosque, silver), KM 541 (Al Azhar mosque, gold), KM 542 (air force anniversary, silver) and KM 543 (air force anniversary, gold). This one honored the 50th Anniversary of the Egyptian Products Co. We assume this is one of the many state owned enterprises in Egypt, operated to provide patronage and graft for insiders. This design also appeared on a copper-nickel ten piastres (KM 599).

Recorded mintage: 5,000 plus 2,000 proofs.

Specification: 15 g, 0.720 fine silver, 35 mm diameter.
