Egypt 1984 pound KM-559
This specimen was lot 74384 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "EGYPT. Pound, AH 1404/1984. Cairo Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Purported Mintage: 25. Commemorating Helwan University Faculty of Fine Arts. An EXTREMELY RARE issue in Proof format, this nearly flawless representative provides bountiful appeal and deep cameo contrast. A KEY in the modern Egyptian series, and most deserved of any number of strong bids." The regular "circulation" format is common. Other one pound NCLT's for 1984 included KM 551 and KM 583.
