This specimen was lot 1097 in Stack's Bowers sale of the L. E. Bruun Collection (Copenhagen, September 2024), where it sold for €12,000 (about US$13,299 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Bright and Alluring Speciedaler with Stunning Luster, DENMARK. Speciedaler, ND (1669). Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. NGC MS-61. Mintmaster: Gotfred Krüger (GK). SCARCE and immediately pleasing, this Speciedaler yields good eye appeal with a bold strike and deep tomes of toning. A piece most deserving of many excited bids. Ex: Countship of Brahesminde Collection (Private Sale - 1922). Ex: Peter v. Hemmert Collection (Copenhagen - 2/1807) Lot # 14."

This is the only date of this type. Another speciedaler dated 1669 (Dav-3563) exists with initials "FCH" along with a double speciedaler (Dav-3564).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28.75 g, 0.875 fine gold, 43-44 mm diameter, this specimen 28.76 g.
