Stack's Bowers 2023 NYINC sale, lot 41033

This specimen was lot 41033 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA. 100 Korun, 1981. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo. Struck to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Manned Space Flight. From the Whytecliffe Collection." This specimen realized twelve times the catalog value in proof. The SCWC notes, "31,639 pieces, Unc and Proof, were melted by the Czech National Bank in 1999."

Recorded mintage: 95,000 plus 5,000 proofs.

Specification: 9 g, 0.500 fine silver, .144 troy oz ASW, 29 mm diameter.
