The first specimen was part of lot 44358 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 5 Decimos, 1876-1880. Medellin Mint. EF-45, AU-50, & AU-55 (PCGS). 3 pieces in lot. 1876 Date leaning right, KM-153.5, Restrepo-297.7, well struck and untoned, 1879/4 sharp pointed 9, overdate clear, KM-161.1, Restrepo-298.4, moderate strike, untoned, and 1880 stars with 7 points, well struck with dark toning. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." The second specimen was part of lot 44348 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (4) 5 Decimos, 1875-1881. Medellin Mint. EF-40, EF-45 (2) (PCGS) & EF-40 (NGC). 4 pieces in lot. 1875/4, KM-153.4; Restrepo-297.4, gray toned with dark toning patch on reverse, 1875 B inside "O" of "ESTADOS", KM-153.5, Restrepo-297.5, 1880 stars with 7 points, full details present, gray toned, and 1881 stars with 7 points, Restrepo-298.8, struck with rusty dies, dark toning. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck 1877-85. A rare 1880/74 overdate is reported.
