This specimen was lot 42039 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1879/4-M 5 Decimos. Medellín mint. MS-62 (PCGS). Ball Pointed 9. Frosty, brilliant, and lustrous, a very high grade piece for this series. Some apparent rim issues are caused by inexactly applied edge lettering. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This type was struck 1877-85. This date appears to be all 1879/4. The variety with the ball pointed 9 is slightly better than pointed tail 9.
