This specimen was lot 20788 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $2,530. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic - Estados Unidos gold 10 Pesos 1869 Popayán, AU50 NGC, lightly toned and very appealing, faint adjustment marks on the cheek. From the Don Benito Collection of Hispanic Gold." This type was struck at Bogotá 1862-66, Medellin 1863-70 and Popayán 1864-76 and is the most available ten pesos of the nineteenth century Colombian issues.
