This specimen was lot 32442 in Heritage sale 3089 (Dallas, TX, January 2021), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Colombia. Republic Real 1829 B-RS MS65 NGC, Bogota mint. Of decidedly rare preservation for the issue, this gem of a real towers above the competition, ranking as the only example of the date certified by NGC. For comparison, PCGS has only certified a single "G6" selection. The offering displays a balanced strike with satiny, gleaming luster residing in the fields." This type was struck 1827-34 at Popayán and 1827-36 at Bogotá.
