Colombia 1828-B RS real

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 ANA sale, lot 42352

This specimen was lot 42352 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description^[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1828-RS Real. Bogotá mint. Restrepo 153.6. AU-55 (PCGS). Dusky but frosty deep gray with some golden toning at the rims. A bit granular and showing some planchet laminations at the central obverse, but still very pleasing. A scarce date." This type was struck 1827-34 at Popayán and 1827-36 at Bogotá.
