The specimen shown was lot 1096 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $184. The catalog description[1] noted,
"Bogotá, Colombia, 1 real, 1828MF. Lustrous XF with slightly crude obverse rim (as made), die-crack across middle of reverse, scarce single-year assayer."
This one real was struck at Bogotá and Popayán 1826-36 while the country was the "Republic of Colombia," which, after many vicissitudes, is again the country name. The type is scarcer than the SCWC indicates.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.1 g, 0.666 fine silver, .066 troy oz ASW, this specimen 2.7 grams.
