This specimen was lot 1576 in the Eliasberg sale, where it sold for $805. The catalog description[1] noted, "1829 RS 1 peso. Bogotá mint. MS-64 (NGC). Types as above. Lustrous orange gold with deeper highlights. Very appealing, an unusually fine Mint State specimen. From the John H. Clapp Collection; Clapp estate to Louis E. Eliasberg, Sr., 1942." This type was issued at the Bogotá mint 1825-36.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 1.69 g, 0.875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW; this specimen: 1.72 grams, 14.90 mm diameter.
