This type was struck 1823-29 and 1836 at Bogotá. It is rather scarce. This specimen was lot 40377 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $1,920. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1829-RS 2 Pesos. Bogotá mint. AU-50 (PCGS). Rich antique gold with darker contrast and pastel highlights, a natural and very attractive scheme. Ideally centered, well struck, and free of significant problems, just a very nice example for the grade. A rare date in this elusive series. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Lester Merkin, April 1970."
