Colombia 1633-C E 2 escudos
This specimen was lot 1191 in Áureo y Calicó sale 346 (Barcelona, March 2020), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$3,959 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"1633. Felipe IV. Cartagena de Indias. E. 2 escudos. Cruces dentro y fuera de los arcos en reverso. Muy bella. Ex Colección Isabel de Trastámara 25/05/2017, nº 80. Rarísima con todos los detalles visibles. EBC-. (kingdom of Spain, Philip IV, Cartagena mint, two escudos of 1633. Crosses on the points of the arches on the reverse. Very handsome, extremely rare with all the details visible. About extremely fine.)"
The Cartagena mint briefly struck coins 1627-35, but few with legible dates.
