This specimen was lot 32639 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "People's Republic gold Panda 200 Yuan 2012 MS70 PCGS. Panda with cub. First Strike issue." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. The half ounce panda was raised from 50 yuan to 200 yuan in 2000.
