Stack's Bowers April 2021 Hong Kong sale, lot 51389

This specimen was lot 51389 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHINA. 300 Yuan, 2011. Panda Series. PCGS PROOF-68 Deep Cameo Gold Shield. sharply struck with frosted devices with hard flashy mirrored surfaces. the rim shows a touch of light tone, otherwise free of haze or fog. 1 kg (32.15 oz) ASW."

The panda is one of the most popular of Chinese NCLT's and the one kilo silver size was added in 2002.

Recorded mintage: 8,000.

Specification: 1 kg, 0.999 fine silver, 100 mm diameter.
