The specimen shown is a type struck in Chile 1960-63. It was the only issue of this subdivision of the escudo and is worthless in all grades. The escudo superseded the peso in 1960, with one escudo = 1000 pesos.

Specification: 3 g, aluminum, 28 mm diameter.
