This specimen was lot 2898 in Goldberg sale 75 (Los Angeles, September 2013), where it sold for $414. The catalog description[1] noted, "Chile. 50 Pesos, 1958. Low mintage year. Extremely Fine." This gold fifty pesos piece was minted in Santiago in 1926 and 1958-74. It was accompanied by similar twenty and hundred pesos (KM 168 and 175) in gold. It is lighter than the twenty pesos of 1896-1917 (KM 158). It is unlikely to have circulated, the wear coming from jewelry use.

Recorded mintage: 10,000.

Specification: 10.17 g, 0.917 fine gold, .294 troy oz AGW.
