The first specimen was lot 34066 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $14,400. The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHILE. 50 Centavos, 1867-So. Santiago Mint. PCGS PROOF-65. Small wreath variety. The only certified example on either the NGC or PCGS population reports. This beautifully preserved first year of issue boasts crisp bold frosty design features in contrast to the flashy fields with slightly subdued reflectivity. A plethora of iridescent hues highlight the intricate devices enhancing the allure of this seldom encountered issue. Truly a magnificent representative of the type with spectacular eye appeal and flash that is certain to catch the attention of many collectors. From the Pat Johnson Collection. Ex: Jascha Heifetz Collection (Superior - 12/1989) Lot # 713."

Recorded mintage: unknown.
