This specimen was lot 2721 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 5,375 CHF (about US$6,524 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. Republik. 50 Escudos 1984, London. FAO - World Fisheries Conference. Sehr selten. Nur 120 Exemplare geprägt. NGC PF70 ULTRA CAMEO. (republic of Cape Verde, fifty escudos of 1984, London mint. Very rare. Only 120 pieces struck.)"

This NCLT was struck in copper-nickel and silver as well as the gold version shown here.

Recorded mintage: est. 115,000 in copper-nickel plus est. 20,000 in silver plus 120 in gold.

Specification: KM 22: 16 g, copper-nickel; KM 22a: 16 g, 0.925 fine silver; KM 22b: 27 g, 0.917 fine gold, .796 troy oz AGW; 34 mm diameter.
