This specimen was lot 22261 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $431.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria 50 Cents 1888, XF details, scattered surface abrasions and lower mintage date (60,000)." This type is notoriously difficult to find in nice condition despite being minted in respectable numbers 1870-1901.
Recorded mintage: 60,000 (a scarce date).
Specification: 11.62 g, 0.925 fine silver, .3456 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
