Canada 1888 10 cents

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70312

This specimen was lot 70312 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $720. The catalog description^[1] noted, "CANADA. 10 Cents, 1888. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Very appealing blue, green and red toning over lustrous surfaces with a lovely cartwheel effect and great eye appeal. A real treat for the collector of Canadian numismatics." This type was struck in 1858 and 1870-1901.

Recorded mintage: 500,000, a common date.

Specification: 2.32 g, 0.925 fine silver, .069 troy oz ASW, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
