This specimen was lot 70191 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 10 Cents, 1887. London Mint. Victoria. PCGS EF-40 Gold Shield. An evenly worn and very presentable circulated example of the type with pervasive dark toning." This type was struck 1858 and 1870-1901 in substantial quantities and most dates are fairly plentiful up to Extremely Fine.
Recorded mintage: 350,000, a better date.
Specification: 2.32 g, 0.925 fine silver, .069 troy oz ASW, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
