This specimen was lot 23438 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria 25 Cents 1888, MS63 PCGS, a choice piece with exceptional eye appeal, full mint brilliance with rich russet patina and just a few tiny toning spots." The type was struck in 1858 and 1870-1901. Despite the ample mintage, this date is rather scarce.
