This specimen was lot 22310 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 50 Cents, 1881-H. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details Secure Holder. Sharply struck, lightly toned and quite good eye appeal despite the detail designation. Ex: Bowers & Merena sale 11/1983, lot# 3513." This type is notoriously difficult to find in nice condition despite being minted in respectable numbers 1870-1901. The 1881-H is priced slightly more than double the commonest date (1900).

Recorded mintage: 820,000.

Specification: 11.66 g, 0.925 fine silver, .300 troy oz ASW.
